Connect Ed: Jan. 22

Good afternoon Piedmont families,

This is Principal Eley with this week's updates. This week we will have report cards going home with students during homeroom on Tuesday, January 25th. With this round of report cards, students who were identified as failing two or more core classes were also given a parent alert letter. If your student received one of these letters, please sign and return with your student for our records. If you have questions or want more information on supports available to help students, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We have many opportunities during and after school for students to get extra academic support.

Also on Tuesday, during Panther Time, our administration and student support staff will be reviewing some important student safety information. Our school counselors, school social worker, school mental health therapist, school nurse, school resource officer, and administrators will all discuss supports that are available to all students. In addition, we will discuss the importance of making reports of violent remarks or behaviors directly to adults and not social media pages. Finally, we will show a brief video from Dr. Houlihan, further outlining the importance of utilizing supports available.

Please save the date and join us on Tuesday, January 25th from 4:00-8:00pm at Zaxby's in Monroe for a Piedmont Spirit Night. A percentage of all food sales will be donated to the school PTO. Dine in and Drive thru are both included.

I hope you all have stayed warm this weekend, and I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Have a great evening!
