Parent Education Series

Over the remainder of the school year, the department of Student Support will be hosting four workshops held at Monroe High School, Porter Ridge High School, and Sun Valley High School. We will continue to utilize various data points to steer the workshop offerings. Our goal for these events is to provide education and resources around specific topics as a way to support and strengthen our community. With this goal in mind, we hope that all schools will advertise this opportunity to their community. Each school host site was selected based on the area where the greatest need was demonstrated, but each location serves as a hub and is open to the entire UCPS community. Our families continue to demonstrate a need for more support and we hope to strengthen the bond between home, school, and community resources. Each workshop will be formatted the same. Each one will be one hour, which includes 40 minutes of sharing resources and information and 20 minutes for Q and A. They will run from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm in each school's media center with a combination of UCPS professionals and/or community professionals. We intend to record these events to be an ongoing resource for families. We are also planning support for Spanish-speaking families.
