Message from Mr. Childers

October 30, 2022

Hello Parents,

This is Tom Childers contacting you from Antioch Elementary. On Friday, our school hosted trunk or treat. We had a tremendous turnout and everyone had a terrific time. I would like to extend a special thank you to the Antioch PTO for their help with this event.

Halloween is Monday. Please note that students are NOT permitted to wear their Halloween Costume to school.

On Wednesday, our school will have Spirit Night at Chic-fil-a at Waverly. Place a mobile order through drive-through, mobile dine in, mobile curbside or delivery and 15% of all mobile sales will go back to our school!

End of the First Grading Period is Friday, October 28th and report cards will go home on November 4th. Parents of students in grades 3-5 will receive an additional form with the report card. This document is a Standards Based Report Card for Literacy Skills. Not all standards are assessed each grading period as this is a very intense process. Parents may view the Standards Based Rubric for each grade by clicking here. This rubric will provide you with detailed information regarding the standards and give you guidance to support your child's continued growth.

Parents frequently ask for additional homework resources to support their child. Our staff has assembled a list of optional homework resources. Click here to view the list of resources.

Parents are asked to bring in their Drivers' License when complete the process of check-in and check-out at Antioch Elementary.

Students are NOT allowed to ride a bus if they are not assigned to one. If assigned, and the parent wants them to get off at another stop, they will need to provide a written note or email the office to indicate the exact address.

Parents should be aware that Antioch Elementary will be sending student absence letters in accordance with UCPS Board Policy. Any student who has unexcused absences that total 3, 6, or 10 days will receive a letter of communication regarding your child's absence.
