Message from Mr. Childers

Hello Parents,

 

This is Tom Childers contacting you from Antioch Elementary.

 

Our staff will offer the second installation of our Parent Literacy Workshop series on Tuesday, November 15th. The K-2 session will take place at 8:00am and the 3-5 session will take place at 9:00am. Both sessions will be held in the Media Center. No registration is required. Please do not bring small children with you as this will be an interactive session.

 

Kindness Week: 11/14-11/18

Each day the students will have a different "activity" that centers around Being Kind and spreading joy throughout Antioch and our community.

Monday- Let's chalk our sidewalks at school with messages of kindness & encouragement for all to see! Please head up to Antioch anytime on Sunday, 11/14 to chalk our sidewalks. Chalk will also be left outside during recess to spread positivity!

Tuesday- Antioch Kindness Tree: fill our tree with thoughtful messages and post on the way to lunch or specials! PTO will hand out paper hearts on Monday to every class to write their messages. The Kindness Tree will be located outside the cafeteria hallway. Tape will be stationed outside on a cart for students to tape their hearts to the tree.

Wednesday- Please bring in a canned good this week through 12/2 to spread KINDness into our community!

Grade Level Bins will be outside the main office for collection the entire week through December 2nd. Top Grade with the most donated cans will win extra recess!

Thursday- Sit with someone new at lunch or play with a new friend at recess! One of the best ways to help others feel seen and appreciated is getting to know them.

Friday- Let's Show the Love by wearing red or pink!

 

The Antioch Elementary School Improvement Team will meet on Wednesday, November 16th. The parent representatives are listed below. Parents may email your grade level representatives questions pertaining to the operation of our school and the parent will add the question to the agenda. The minutes from all School Improvement Meetings will be emailed to all parents at Antioch.

On Thursday, November 17th, our school will offer picture makeup day. This is for students who missed the original date or anyone who would like to have a retake. Our third grade students will host a musical performance in the gym at 6:00pm on Thursday evening.

 

Tuesday, November 22nd is an early release day for students. Our school will dismiss at 11:00am. Please communicate with your child's teacher if transportation changes will occur on this date. Parents may not come to school for lunch on 11/22 due to early release.

Antioch Elementary has nearly a hundred staff members and it is sometimes very difficult for our office staff to determined who called you. Please note that our school receives many phone calls each day.

 IXL This online learning platform provides your child with opportunities to practice Reading and Math skills. This resource is a terrific supplement to learning but does not replace quality instruction. Your child can certainly use this platform to enhance their learning. Students may practice previously learned information or challenge themselves with above grade level concepts. Your child should have a username and a password to access this great resource. School Nutrition

Our school serves breakfast from 7:00am - 7:20am. Students who arrive in the cafeteria after 7:20am will not be permitted to eat breakfast. Lunch is served daily and you may click here to view the menu.

Parents are permitted to have lunch with their child (M-Th) - SEE THE SCHEDULE BELOW.  Students may have one visitor  due to seating limitations. Lunch with your child is open on Monday through Thursday ONLY.
