Message from Mr. Childers

January 15, 2023

Hello Parents,

This is Tom Childers contacting you from Antioch Elementary.  January 16th is MLK Holiday . Our Third Graders will take a field trip to Discovery Place on January 18th. Students in grades 3-5 will enjoy a presentation from the Bright Star Touring Theater on January 19th.

Here is the description of the performance:

Black History’s Groundbreaking Geniuses

Genius comes in all shapes and sizes and Black History is filled with amazing inventors, artists and thinkers who changed the world. This show focuses on the brilliance of over a dozen amazing characters from Black History: Scientists like surgeon Daniel Hale Williams, mathematicians like Dorothy Vaughan, Literary Geniuses like Ralph Ellison and Maya Angelou, and artistic geniuses like Alvin Ailey. Learn about these geniuses and inspire your young audiences to discover their own genius with this brand new show for 2022!

The Antioch Elementary School Improvement Team will meet on January 19th. Class pictures will be taken on January 20th. There is no school for students on January 27th as it is a teacher workday.
