Mexico

First Graders have been getting real excited to learning about Mexico! In preparation for our Technology Night, all nine first grade classes are learning about the customs and traditions of the country. Many students in our class have families from Mexico. Therefore, students are being able to share many special qualities about the country. In Ms. White’s class, students have been learning about Mexico through reading books, watching videos, as well as looking at artifacts. As a journal assignment, students wrote“If I went to Mexico, I would see _____.” This assignment allowed students to visualize themselves as if they were in the country. First Grade looks forward to continuing to learn and explore Mexico!

“Pen pals are so exciting!” exclaims first grader, Anthony.  First graders have been  communicating with pen pals in Mexico through EPals.  We have been learning about culture in Mexico as well as messaging with  a class about what they are learning.  We have learned about the different holidays celebrated, the different cultures, and what schools are like in Mexico.  Students have enjoyed learning about culture in Mexico!
