11/30/2020: Yarely Cuamacateco
My name is Yarely Cuamacateco and my middle name is Cristal. My mom gave me that middle name because the doctors told her that I was probably not going to make it and she was going to have a miscarriage. So that’s when she went to New Jersey and doctors took care of her, so she thought of me as a Cristal because when Cristal falls it breaks. After 10 months since I was born my parents moved back to Mexico and I lived there for almost 2 years so my first language was Spanish.
I love to bake and cook. My love for baking started at a young age when I watched my mom and sometimes I would help. I want to become a heart surgeon or have my own business. I am a shy person but once i get to know you I open up a lot. During quarantine I did not like that I wasn’t able to see my friends but it did give me some time to think about what I really wanted to do in the future and have time to focus on myself. I want to travel the world to see different places and try many different foods. One thing that I have always wanted to do was start a donation for those in need, just thinking about seeing a smile on their faces makes me happy.
Two people that I look up to the most are both of my parents. They both came from poor families but still worked hard to get to where they are now and everything they do is for their kids. I am very thankful for everything they have done for me and my siblings and I want to work hard to make them proud.
