Jan. 4, 2022 (Exam Week Changes)
A message from MARVIN RIDGE HIGH
Good evening Maverick family,
There were some important changes shared by UCPS today about exam week procedures.
These changes will be initiated by all high schools. High schools will administer all non-state, teacher made exams virtually during the last five days of Fall semester (January 10-14, 2022). Students who have teacher-made exams may elect to take these exams from home; however, if a student needs a school-based resource (i.e. broadband Internet) to complete these exams, MRHS will provide a testing environment on-campus to meet this need. All required state exams (EOC/CTE) will be administered in person, on campus the day of the exam. Students do not have the option to take state exams virtually or at home.
The North Carolina End-of-Course (EOC) Tests are used to gauge a student’s knowledge of subject related concepts as specified in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and to provide a global estimate of the student’s mastery of the material in a particular content area. These EOC assessments and Career and Technical Education (CTE) exams must be completed in-person; at the end of the course; and within the last five days of the semester for semester courses per state law. All required state exams (EOC/CTE Exam) will be administered in person, on campus the day of the exam.
