After School Tutoring Program
Our next session runs from December 5- January 26 and begins with 8th Grade Science on Mondays, Language Arts on Tuesdays and Math on Thursdays. The program runs from 4 pm to 5 pm so please make sure your children have a ride waiting at 5 pm. If a student is not consistently picked up by 5:15, it might prevent the child from attending this support opportunity. In order to register, please click on your child's grade-level link that is located below and complete the reistration process. Our registration begins November 22 and ends December 1. If you're able to successfully complete the online registration process, your child is officially registered and able to begin December 5th. If a parent receives an error message during registration and is unable to sign up for this opportunity because the class has reached capacity. Please remember all children have the opportunity to attend tutoring with any of their teachers who all offer before or after school tutoring. Finally, parents must provide transportation home as there will not be school transportation. Thank you and we hope to see your children!
Party Like A Pirate Fundraiser
This is our school's largest fundraiser of the year! Each student that brings in $10 or more has the privilege to participate in our Pirate Party! Money collection will take place from November 18th through December 20th. Great prizes will be awarded for the Top 3 Fundraisers and the Top Fundraising Class from each grade level.
Proctors Needed for Testing
PRMS is in need of volunteers to assist with proctoring for testing on January 18th and 19th. The times will be from 8:30am until 12:00pm. If you are interested, please contact Tiffany Mitchell-Chaney at email@example.com. We appreciate the assistance!
Early Dismissal Procedures
If a student plans to leave school before the end of the day, he/she must bring a note from home requesting early dismissal. The adult who plans to pick up the student must sign him/her out in the office by 3:15 pm and be prepared to show valid picture identification..ie driver's license or passport. Also, please allow yourself enough travel time to be inside the office by 3:15.
PRMS begins mini-clubs next week! Mini-clubs allow students to engage in rigorous and interesting clubs that support academic, behavioral, and emotional growth. Some examples of clubs are origami, peer tutoring, yoga, tessellations, computer coding, poetry slam, and improvisational theater. Parents are encouraged to speak with your child regarding the club he or she is participating in the next six weeks.
Have you ever wanted to help others, but you weren’t quite sure how? Fill a shoebox! Operation Christmas Child, a program of the North Carolina-based Samaritan’s Purse, provides you with the opportunity to get a shoebox and fill it with goodies for a child somewhere else in the world.
Last year, the PRMS 8th grade class raised $4,000 for JDRF through Beta Club’s annual JDRF Fundraiser. With high hopes of exceeding that amount this year, our 8th graders attended the 2016 Fundraiser Kickoff on Friday, November 4th in the PRMS gym.
