  • Annual Spelling bee

    The annual Fairview Elementary School spelling bee took place on Thursday, December 8th in the school gym. There were twenty-two contestants from grades 3-5 competing in the competition. The students were given a study guide to prepare for the big competition.

  • Ready, Set, Wait! Author Visit from Patti R. Zelch

    On Tuesday, October 11th, the 4th and 5th graders were surprised with an author visit from Patti R. Zelch who wrote "Ready, Set, Wait!What Animals Do Before A Hurricane". This visit came just after Hurricane Matthew came through North Carolina. Mrs. Zelch explained the research process and the steps involved in writing a book.

  • The Union County Humane Society Presents

    The Humane Society of Union County presented to 4th and 5th graders on Thursday, October 13th about the 4 R's of pet care. The 4 R's include Respect, Research, Responsibility, and Rescue. The students were excited to have Mr. Daniel Nelson explain what The Human Society provides for Union County residents such as having a clinic, foster home set up, and spray/neuter surgery center.
