Ms. Howell became the media coordinator at Forest Hills in 2008, and loves being part of the Yellow Jacket family. She feels that she has the best job in the school because she gets to help all the students and teachers by creating and maintaining a media center with the materials and equipment that they need and by helping them learn to find and use information to improve their lives.

She is a Union County native who graduated from Monroe High School. She received her Bachelors degree in English and Secondary Education from Appalachian State University. She received her Masters degree in Library and Information Studies from UNC Greensboro. In 2005, she became a National Board Certified Teacher in Library Media, and she renewed that certification in 2015. In her 31 years in education, she has been an EC teacher, an English teacher, and a media coordinator in Anson and Union Counties.

She loves spending time with her family, reading, and cooking.
