Antioch Elementary NC School Report Card

  • Dear Antioch Elementary Families,

Antioch Elementary School is committed to providing an environment where children’s academic, social, and emotional needs are met, challenged as well as celebrated. The school staff of highly qualified educators, are dedicated to the students by supporting them in reaching their full potential. Once a year, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction provides stakeholders with updates on public school achievements. This is communicated through the North Carolina School Report Card. These report cards include important information about school and student performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, instructional resources, and teacher quality. Report data is available for our school district and for the state’s education system as a whole.

During the 2023-2024 school year, our school was recognized as an A school, which is the highest rating that North Carolina schools can achieve.  The students and staff at Antioch had a growth score of 3.92 which is well above the exceeding growth range. Our third, fourth and fifth-grade students were 82.3% proficient in Reading and 91.2% proficient in Math. Our fifth-grade students scored an incredible 94.4% proficient on the Science EOG.

North Carolina’s READY school accountability program provides important information about Antioch Elementary School; however, these numbers only tell part of the story.  There are many other indicators of school quality and areas of strength for AES.  These strengths include the expertise and collaborative work of the school staff who seeks to maximize students' academic growth, character, and the high degree of parental support. AES embraces diversity and integrates global education across the curriculum as a UCPS International School. Technology is utilized with a 1:1 laptop initiative in grades 3 through 5 in preparation of being college and career-ready. The Professional Learning Community at AES promotes teacher collaboration and student learning. Relationships, partnerships, and positive communication among staff, students, and parents are of utmost importance at Antioch Elementary. Working collaboratively, AES stakeholders have achieved many successes over the last decade and will build upon these successes in the quest for continuous improvement.

The Antioch Elementary PTO is a vital part of our school's continued success. They provide funding for numerous improvements and resources that greatly contribute to our growth and overall school effectiveness.

At Antioch Elementary, stakeholder involvement is very important to the success of the school. Please feel free to contact school personnel to discuss this report card or any other interests in AES.  Also, feel free to visit the school website at: http://antioch.ucps.k12.nc.us/ Thank you for your continued support as we provide an environment where the academic, social and emotional needs of children are met, challenged and celebrated.
