  • Naviance- A Career and College Readiness Program
    UCPS has partnered with Naviance, a college and career success planning software to provide a variety of tools for student achievement through academic planning.  Personality and career inventory assessments, course planning, college representative visit scheduling, college and scholarship searches and more will all be available as a result of this software. FAQ’s and documents explaining the benefits and registration process are provided on the counseling webpage.

  • Beta Club Sorts Shoes at Samaritan's Feet Warehouse

    On Saturday February 17th, 2018, the Sun Valley High School Beta Club processed hundreds of children’s shoes for Samaritan’s Feet in Charlotte, NC. Samaritan’s Feet is a 501 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that "shares a message of hope and love through washing the feet of impoverished children around the world and adorning them with new shoes.” Founded by Emmanuel "Manny" and Tracie Ohonme in 2003, Samaritan's Feet has distributed over 6.5 million pairs of shoes in 75 different countries since its inception.

    Students in Microsoft Imagine Academies benefit from a world-class Microsoft curriculum and software tools to tackle real-world challenges in the classroom environment. Enrollment in the course affords students the opportunity to gain industry-recognized certification in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access. Successful completion of Microsoft Office Specialist certification programs give students a sense of confidence and empowers them for future success. Additionally, as students prepare to enter a competitive job market, the acquired certifications help to validate their office skills and enhances their employability options.

  • Beta Club Serves at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina

    On Saturday, January 20th, 2018, members of the Sun Valley High School Beta Club processed donated grocery items for hundreds of needy families in our area at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Charlotte, NC. Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina serves a total of 19 counties, 14 of those counties are in North Carolina including Anson, Burke, Cabarrus, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Rutherford, Stanly and Union. The food bank serves 5 counties in South Carolina including Cherokee, Lancaster, Spartanburg, Union and York.
