About Prospect Elementary
About Our School
-
Prospect Elementary serves kindergarten through fifth-grade students and is located in Monroe. We are a Leader in Me school committed to growing leaders academically and developing leadership skills that can be used beyond the classroom. These skills include critical thinking, goal-setting, listening and speaking, self-directed learning, presentation-making, and the ability to work in groups.
Leader in Me is a whole-school framework based on "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. The Leader in Me framework includes training for our staff that in turn impacts the daily lives of staff and students. This framework helps us reach our potential of higher academic achievement, increasing students' social and emotional health, and increased engagement within the school community.

Patricia Greene (Assistant Principal)
About Ms. Greene
Although a native North Carolinian, I have lived and traveled to numerous states throughout the country. However, it is Union County that has captured my adventurous spirit with the endless opportunities it has to offer. It not only offers a mix of rural and metropolitan charm, but exemplifies a community of warmth, whereby all members are valued.
As an administrator within the Prospect Elementary Bear Cub family, I diligently strive to ensure high levels of learning for all students. It is my goal that our students' lives are enriched with opportunities, yet challenged to become expressive thinkers and life-long learners. It is my belief that education is not just a series of classes or subjects, but a chance to maximize each child's horizon in a very global society.
While working as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and administrator, I realize that mediocrity is not an option for our clients in which we serve. You send us your best and we, as leaders, must ensure that we continue your child's growth and success along their journey in school and life. I am truly thankful to be a part of the Bear Cub family and friends.
