Stephanie Burris (Principal)
About Mrs. Burris
Mrs. Burris began her career in education in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and then transitioned to Union County Schools in the fall of 2009. She has been a pre-k teacher, literacy facilitator, third-grade summer school teacher, administrative intern, and assistant principal.
During her time in the public school system, she has also taught evening classes for the Education Department at UNC-Charlotte and Stanly Community College. Mrs. Burris loves to be involved in the learning process for any child or adult and is a lifelong learner herself. Her bachelor's degree, master's degree and graduate certificate were all completed at UNC-Charlotte in the areas of Early Childhood Education and School Administration.
Mrs. Burris grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia and in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. Her family moved to the area when she was in the 8th grade. When she married her husband she moved to Oakboro, North Carolina where they currently reside. Mrs. Burris enjoys almost any outdoor activity including working in the yard/garden, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking and many more.

Rachel Seighman (Assistant Principal)
About Mrs. Seighman
Mrs. Seighman grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to North Carolina in 2000. She began working with Union County Public Schools in October of 2000 as a School Counselor. Fairview Elementary was her home for 19 years before she ventured on to work as a High School Counselor for 1 1/2 years. Mrs. Seighman came "home" to Fairview Elementary School in January 2021 to work as the Assistant Principal.
Mrs. Seighman attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania for her bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling and West Virginia University for her master's degree in rehabilitation counseling. Once she moved to N.C., she took additional courses to become a school counselor and obtained her license in School Counseling. In 2006, Mrs. Seighman became part of Wingate University's first Administrative Cohort to take courses and gain her Administrative license.
Mrs. Seighman lives with her family in Monroe, N.C. with her two daughters, Olivia and Claira, her husband Eric and dog Sally. She enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, visiting new places, and spending time with her family and friends.
