Mrs. Heather Shulman
Mrs. Heather Shulman is the new media coordinator at Fairview Elementary School. Mrs. Shulman is orginally from Washington, NJ and moved to the Charlotte area with her family 10 1/2 years ago for warmer weather and lower taxes. Mrs. Shulman is an avid reader (of course) who leans toward historical fiction and dystopian novels. In her spare time she loves to garden and watch episodes of "Fixer Upper" on HGTV.
Mrs. Shulman received her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ in 2002. She worked in the insurance industry in New Jersey for 8 years. After moving to North Carolina, Mrs. Shulman decided to change her career path and accepted a job at Rocky River Elementary School as an instructional assistant in August of 2008. The next year she began working in the Media Center as a media assistant and continued working in that role until May of 2013. While working as a media assistant it became clear that Mrs. Shulman should go back to school and get her masters degree in Library Sciences so that she could become a media coordinator. In August 2013 she was fortunate to work as the media coordinator while attending North Carolina Central University (NCCU). Mrs. Shulman graduated from NCCU in December 2015 with her Masters Degree in Library Sciences.
Mrs. Shulman married her high school sweetheart, Kevin, in 1999 and they have two boys, Collin and Connor. Collin is entering high school at Hickory Ridge High School in Cabarrus County and is involved in wrestling. Connor will be attending Harrisburg Elementary School in Cabarrus County as a 5th grader and loves football and soccer.
All are always welcomed in the media center at any time. Come in the morning with your child to help check out books (open check out is from 7:15 to 7:30am). Or stop in after school to check out books with your child from 2-2:30pm. Mrs. Shulman looks forward to seeing you!
