Grades and Honor Roll

  • Grading Scale

    For all subjects in K-2 and 3-5 writing, the grading scale is as follows:

    • 4: Exceeds grade level expectations
    • 3: Meets grade level expectations
    • 2: Work is nearing grade level, but still below expectations
    • 1: Work is consistently below grade level expectations

    For all other subjects in 3-5, the grading scale is a ten-point scale and is as follows:

    • A: 90-100 
    • B: 80-89 
    • C: 70-79
    • D: 60-69 
    • F: below 60

    Additional Areas- non-academic skills, special area classes

    • S: Satisfactory
    • N: Needs improvement
    • U: Unsatisfactory

    Honor Roll Criteria (set by Union County Public Schools)

    A Honor Roll

    • Must have all A’s in reading, math, social studies, science
    • A “3” or a “4” in written composition
    • An “S” in art, music, physical education, computer technology
    • An “S” in all areas of citizenship and work/study habits
    • There can be no N’s in any subcategories

    A/B Honor Roll

    • Must have all A’s and B’s in reading, math, social studies, science
    • A “3” or a “4” in written composition
    • An “S” in art, music, physical education, computer technology
    • An “S” in all areas of citizenship and work/study habits
    • There can be no N’s in any subcategories
