Mr. Campbell was named Principal of South Providence School in October 2019. He is looking forward to working with the staff and students this school year. He hopes to be a positive influence on the students and work closely with them as they transition toward graduating.
Mr. Campbell began his educational career in 1995 with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools after graduating from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Business Education. He and his wife moved to the Charlotte area from Syracuse, NY in the summer of 1995. In his first year, he was a technology teacher at Marie G. Davis Middle School before moving the next school year to Independence High School for the next 9 years. During his time at Independence, he taught Business and Marketing classes. He was a baseball coach as well as a DECA and FBLA advisor. He also held several leadership roles as a VOCATS trainer as well as the Lead Teacher for the Information Technology Academy.
In 2005, Mr. Campbell made the move to Union County Public Schools as he helped open Porter Ridge High School. He served as a Business Teacher and an FBLA Advisor as well as mentored numerous Beginning Teachers during his three years at Porter Ridge High School. During his time at Porter Ridge, he began working on his Masters in School Administration from Gardner-Webb and graduated in May 2009.
Mr. Campbell joined the administration team at Piedmont High School in the summer of 2008. During the first part of the 2009-2010 school year, he split duty as an Assistant Principal for Piedmont High School and Piedmont Middle School. He enjoyed the experience of being back in a middle school before moving back to the high school full time in November 2009. He enjoys his time at Piedmont High School working with the students and assisting them to be successful and graduate. Mr. Campbell served Piedmont High School for 11 wonderful years before transitioning to South Providence School.
