The School Improvement Team consists of representatives from all areas of the school community. This team makes decisions for the school and ensures that the school improvement plan is developed and implemented. Anyone in the school community is welcome to attend and participate in these meetings.

What happens at a SIT Meeting?

We need more parent voices in our school improvement process! But if you agreed to join the team, what would you be doing? Monthly SIT meetings look like this:
- Review of the minutes from the last meeting.
- Reports from old business.
- Committee reports on action progress.
- New business
- Next meeting date, time, and location.
No one needs to be an expert on any one thing. English is NOT required as translation can be supported.

- Under Construction: East Elementary Staff are currently building a shared vision around our beliefs about student behavior and how it relates to realizing more of our mission every day.

School Improvement Goals
- According to the NC Teacher Working Condition Survey, "Teachers will routinely enforce rules of student conduct," 80% of the time.
- Student participation in school wide SOAR (behavior) Celebrations will be between 90%-100% of students.
- East Elementary growth rating, according to NCDPI, will Exceed Growth.
- The East Elementary overall School Performance grade will be 55 or higher.
- According to the NC Teacher Working Condition Survey, "Teachers have an appropriate level of influence on decision-making in this school," will increase from 63.4% to 75%.
- According to the NC Teacher Working Condition Survey, "There is an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect in this school," will increase from 65.9% to 76%.
- According to the NC Teacher Working Condition Survey, East's "Overall Satisfaction" score will rank in the top 15 schools in UCPS.
- Given the UCPS Focus School RISE Rubric feedback, East will evidence growth in the Data Driven Instruction, Observation and Feedback, and Planning levers.
Parent Engagement Goal
#1 East Elementary will increase parent volunteerism to support school initiatives.
