  • Benefits of a Bilingual Brain

Research has consistently documented the power of immersion education to help students attain high levels of language proficiency. We are very fortunate that our school community has embraced this notation as Sun Valley Middle School is now offering a robust bilingual experience for a group of six grade learners within the Dual language immersion program. This particular program fosters bilingualism, bi-literacy, as well as enhances awareness of cultural diversity and academic achievement.

  • Sensory Study of Ratios

Sixth grade SVMS students have been exploring many hands on learning opportunities to investigate equivalent ratios in math. Students had the opportunity to taste test recipes using different ratios, adjust the ratios of each recipe to match, and discover how making multiple batches of the same recipe created a final product that still tasted exactly the same, due to equivalent ratios.
