• Beginning in 2017, Monroe Middle School, in partnership with Atrium Health became the Health Sciences Academy at Monroe Middle School. We are dedicated to creating unique learning opportunities providing unparalleled access to experiential learning for our scholars. While infusing STEM mindsets within all our curricula, we offer a special array of Related Arts courses focusing on the Health Sciences, from Career Exploration & Business, to Medical Investigators, Neuroscience & Biotechnology. 

    About the Health Sciences Academy

    • All students will have opportunities to participate in internships, externships and career-building activities related to health care and the medical field.
    • Atrium Health will provide a full-time Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Specialist who will be the liaison between the school and hospital.

    Students do not have to apply for the academy. All students enrolled in our school will take courses in the health sciences pathway. If you have any questions, please call the main office at 704-296-3120.
