Elizabeth Allen (Principal)
About Mrs. Allen
Elizabeth Allen was named principal of New Town Elementary School at the June 2022 Board of Education meeting.
Mrs. Allen earned her bachelor’s in Secondary Education, English Language Arts from Appalachian State University. After teaching English and being the AVID Coordinator at Shelby High School for six years, she chose to pursue her master’s in School Administration from UNCC through the NC Principal Fellows program.
Mrs. Allen served as an assistant principal in Rutherford County before coming to Union County Public Schools. Mrs. Allen arrived at Parkwood Middle School as an assistant principal in 2016, and moved into the principal role in 2019.
Mrs. Allen enjoys reading Young Adult literature – her favorites being the Harry Potter and Twilight series, both of which she has read several times. Aside from reading, Mrs. Allen loves to travel and try new foods.
Mrs. Allen is married to her husband, Andrew, and has two sons, Asher and Evan.

Stefanie Olszewski (Assistant Principal)
About Mrs. Olszewski
Stefanie Olszewski was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Michigan State University. She earned her second master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Queen’s University of Charlotte. Additionally, she completed an Elementary School Mathematics graduate certificate from UNCC.
Mrs. Olszewski began her teaching career in the Chicago Public School system. In 2007, she moved to Charlotte and taught for 11 years in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. In 2018, she, along with her family, moved to Union County. She spent 1 year teaching at Kensington Elementary before transitioning to the role of Instructional Support Specialist at New Town Elementary. In this role, she supported district initiatives, developed curriculum, and delivered professional development.
Mrs. Olszewski resides in Waxhaw with her husband, Jason, and her three children, TJ, Johnny, and Kate. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, Pilates and watching her MSU Spartans in sports. She is very excited to continue working with the staff at New Town Elementary and supporting the amazing students and community.
