The School Counseling Program at Sardis Elementary School addresses the social-emotional, academic, and career needs of our students. School counselors teach character education lessons in classrooms, conduct small group counseling sessions, counsel students individually as needed, help in crisis situations, and provide consultation for parents and teachers. School counselors work as advocates in the school to help all children reach their goals and have a happy, healthy, and successful school year!
The School Counselor at Sardis Elementary School is Breanne Villas. You can reach her at 704-296-3145 or at Breanne.Villas@ucps.k12.nc.us.
About the Counselor
My name is Mrs. Villas and this is my sixth year at Sardis Elementary School and my 10th year as a school counselor. I live in Indian Trail with my husband, Corey, our 2 children, Rhett and Emery, and our dog, Sheldon. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, and cheering on the Auburn Tigers and Carolina Panthers. I love my time here at Sardis and am so grateful to work with such wonderful students, families, and staff. If I can be of assistance to you or your child(ren) please reach out to me via phone or email.
What is the role of elementary school counselors?
Elementary school years set the tone for developing the knowledge, attitudes and skill necessary for children to become healthy, competent and confident learners. Through a comprehensive developmental school counseling program, school counselors work as a team with the school staff, parents and the community to create a caring climate and atmosphere. By providing education, prevention, early identification and intervention, school counselors can help all children achieve academic success. The professional elementary school counselor holds a master’s degree and required state certification in school counseling (ASCA).
