  • World No Tobacco Day Event Heralded by Parkwood High School SADD/SAVE Chapter

The SADD/SAVE Club will observe World No Tobacco Day on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.    The event will occur in the Parkwood High School student center during all four lunch periods.  The Club is sponsoring an informative booth depicting the dangers, stigma, and monetary/health costs of tobacco usage.  That day the majority of PWHS Students will be touched by this informative potentially life-altering message.  The Club has agreed unanimously to make this an annual event and urge everyone to take a moment to help themselves and others by staying aware of and away from the dangers of Tobacco and Nicotine.

  • Attendance Waivers & Recovery

Attendance Waivers are being handled differently this semester. Paper waivers are no longer available. Mrs. Broome is processing waivers for all students who have eight or more absences in a class(es). If recovery hours are owed, the student will be called to the School Counseling Center to sign and date his/her recovery sheet. As always, students will be given a copy of the recovery sheet. Students are also given a Recovery Log to have teachers sign whenever recovery/tutoring is done. Recovery is being held Monday through Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria and Wednesday mornings from 7:45-8:45 a.m. in room 402 for the next 2 weeks. Two Saturday sessions will also be available on Saturday, May 13 and Saturday, May 20 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
