  • Class/Club/Sports Information 

    French Club will meet Wednesday, October 30 at 7:45am in room 809.

    FCCLA members planning on attending the District Leadership meeting at Lincolnton Cultural Center on October 28, need to see Mrs. Hoobler or Mrs. Rivers for their permission slip. The cost is $20.

    There will be a Battle of the Books interest meeting for all grade levels on Tuesday, October 29 from 3:15 -3:45pm. If you cannot attend this meeting, but would like to be on the team, please stop by the media center and see Mrs. Williams.

    Women's basketball tryouts will start on October 31 at 3:30pm. Anyone interested in trying out must bring a copy of your completed and up to date physical to Coach Boyce and complete their family ID by no later than October 25. Any questions, see Coach Boyce or Coach Richar ASAP. If family ID is not completed, you will not be permitted to try out, NO EXCEPTIONS.

    Academic WorldQuest team members are to meet in Room 401 briefly after school Thursday, October 24

    There is a mandatory rehearsal for all Chamber Choir members Tuesday, October 22. Please practice with your recordings before rehearsal. Rehearsal will end at 5:00pm.

    There is a Women's Soccer interest meeting on Friday, October 25 at 7am in the New Gym.

    Congratulations to the following chorus students. They were accepted into the 72nd Mars Hill Choral Festival through an audition process: Samantha Cromwell, Brooke Hospelhorn, Avery Martin, Joangel Rangel and Noah Voglewede. This is Samantha’s, Brooke’s, and Noah’s second year in a row being accepted, and Joangel’s third year in a row. Outstanding job!

    Seniors, if you're interested in Free College Application Week, many private schools waive their application fee. If you are interested or have any questions, Guidance will be in the media center during all lunches on October 21 through 25.

  • Driver's Education

    The Drivers Education test for the October class will take place on Friday, November 1, after school, in the media center. You must bring all forms completely filled out and signed: 800 form, parent letter, birth certificate, and exit ticket. Monday, November 25 is the retake exam. You must have taken the November 1 exam to be eligible for the retake. If you miss the November 1 exam, you will NOT be able to take the test on November 25.

  • PowderPuff Reschedule

    The 2019 Powder Puff Football Tournament has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, November 5 at 7pm! We are accepting new registrations for anyone who didn't get a chance to sign up previously! We are also accepting Powder Puff t-shirt orders through Wednesday, October 16!

    Powder Puff practices will be held on Tuesday, October 29th and on Monday, November, 4th from 7:30 pm until 8:30 pm on the practice field.  The Powder Puff tournament will held on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:00 pm.

  • Attendance Recovery Dates

    Attendance Recovery will be offered on December 9-21, 2019 and January 6-11, 2020.  Afternoon sessions will be held Monday-Friday from 3:30pm to 5pm in the cafeteria.  Saturday sessions will be held from 8 am to 2 pm.  Mrs. Broome will begin processing waivers on December 2.  Please be sure to have all excuses, for prior absences, turned in before this date.

  • ASVAB Signup

    Students in 10th-12th grades can sign up for the ASVAB. Do you need help deciding what you want to do for a career? The military is offering a free career exploration test that will not only ask you about your interests, but also will test your skills. This test lasts approximately 3 hours and will be given during the school day. When your results come in, you will be given information to help guide you in your career selection process. This test will be offered at Parkwood in the media center on Thursday, November 21 starting at 8:15 am. If you are interested in taking this test, please complete the google form by Tuesday, November 19. You can register on the main Parkwood High School webpage.

    Union County Public Schools is parterning with the Union County Public Library to offer a College Readiness Resource Center which is open to all UCPS students, grades 8-12. Appointments can be made or sessions can be attended at the public library.

  • Student Help Desk Hours

    Mr. Gaither, our computer technician, is available for Help Desk hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. His office is located in the media center. Students may come by before or after school for support and also during lunch, if they have a pass. Students may get a pass from the front office during lunch.

    Students may also fill out the Chromebook Assistance Form found on the main school website, but service is typically faster if they come during open Help Desk hours.
