Announcements

  • Mr. Spencer’s phone message to Shiloh families on 2/20/18:

Hello Shiloh families, this is Mr. Spencer with a few announcements. First, thank you to everyone who has supported our annual chocolate sale so far. We appreciate all of your efforts, as the funds collected go directly back into the school. The sale officially ends Friday, February 23 so please return any unsold chocolate to the school at this time. We have other students on a waiting list who know that they can sell more chocolate.

Our Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive will also end this Friday, February 23. Thank you for sending in your canned food items or monetary donations. Everything collected will benefit the Union County Community Shelter.

Shiloh and Sun Valley Elementary will host a combined meeting tonight, February 20, for parents of rising Kindergarten students who are interested in the Spanish Dual Language immersion program for next year. The meeting will begin at 6 PM in the Media Center of Sun Valley Elementary School.

As you know, we conduct safety drills throughout the school year so that our students and staff will be safe in the event of an actual emergency or situation on campus. We will be having a safety drill in the near future. Please discuss with your children the importance of such drills, and that their purpose is to keep us safe.

Our next movie night will take place on Friday, March 2 and we will show the movie Wonder. The movie has themes of kindness towards others, which is something that we promote in all classes here at Shiloh. Parents, if you choose to bring your children to our movie night, please have discussions on kindness towards others before coming to the movie. And for our movie night, the gym doors will open at 6 PM and the movie will begin at 6:30 PM. Light snacks and refreshments will be for sale.

The final Early Release Day of the school year will take place on Wednesday, March 7. School will be dismissed at 11. Buses will run and lunches will be served. Please have afternoon plans in place for your children for March 7.

Thank you and have a good night.

Her students’ reading average every month (October, November, and December) has put them in the top 10 in the Charlotte region each month out of  over 200 classrooms participating in Charlotte and the surrounding counties! Her students also did a great job reading with Bookopolis over the snow days! Keep reading, students. Great work!!
