Jamee Giers (Principal)
About Ms. Giers
Ms. Jamee Giers is in her first year as principal of Shiloh Valley Elementary School. Ms. Giers was also named the 2023-2024 UCPS Assistant Principal of the Year. Ms. Giers began her career in education teaching elementary school in 2000 in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. She taught in the classroom until 2009, and then she transitioned to a curriculum facilitator position for five years. In 2014 Ms. Giers moved to Union County Schools to teach 4th grade and then support as an interventionist while completing her administrative internship.
Ms. Giers earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and her Masters in School Administration from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. She lives in Waxhaw with her two sons, Carter (11) and Christian (9). When Ms. Giers is not at football games or catching frogs in the backyard, she enjoys walking her dogs Luka, Mocha, and Romeo.

Tamika Alleyne (Assistant Principal)
About Ms. Alleyne
Mrs. Alleyne grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Metropolitan College of New York with her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies (2008), then her Masters of Education in 2010. Mrs. Alleyne began her career in education teaching elementary school in New York City Public Schools. After relocating to North Carolina, she continued elementary teaching in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Mrs. Alleyne taught in the classroom until 2020, then transitioned to an academic facilitator position for two years, followed by a dean of students position for her final years in CMS. After thirteen years in CMS, she is excited to extend her leadership and career journey to Union County Public Schools.Contact Ms. Alleyne
