    If your 5th grade student has been realigned to Cuthbertson Middle School for the 2018-19 school year, please see the following important dates:

    Cuthbertson Middle School will host a rising 6th grade Parent Night for all famililes on Thursday, May 17 at 6 pm.

    If your K-4th grade student has been reassigned to Wesley Chapel Elementary and you missed the school tours, they are hosting additional visits on May 15 and May 22 beginning at 2:45 in the Media Center.  Please do not park in the bus lot.

  • New Family Tours and Kindergarten Registration

    Come see your new school!  Tours of our school are given on Tuesdays at 3 pm.  Our next available date are May 15 and May 22.  Click here, to schedule a tour.   If you need a different date / time, just let us know.

    If your child will not be at school, please click here to send an e mail to our Data Manager.  Please include your child's name, teacher name, date of absence(s) and reason for absence.  Our Data Manager will notify you when she receives your e-mail.  If you send an e mail, you do not need to send a hand written note.

    All afternoon transportation changes must be communicated in writing.  You can choose one of the following written methods of communication:

    • Send a note with your child the day of the transportation change (this is the most preferred method)

    In case of emergency and you did not send a note, you can:

    • Send a fax to 704 843 9019
    • Send an e mail to Carrie Johnson (
    • Bring us a written note before you get in the car rider line.

    All changes must be received before 1:30 pm.

    For your child’s safety, exceptions will NOT be made.

    North Carolina State EOG (End of Grade) Testing is just around the corner for all 3rd – 5th graders.   • Western Union Elementary teacher Ashley Erb named 2018-19 UCPS Teacher of the Year

    On April 19, Western Union Elementary teacher Ashley Erb was named the 2018-19 UCPS Teacher of the Year. For winning the countywide Teacher of the Year title, Ashley received $500 for her personal use as well as a one-year lease of a 2018 car, courtesy of Union County KIA. The Union County Education Foundation also awarded her $1,000 for her personal use.

  • Battle of the Books Comes to WUES

    Battle Of the Books is a club for elementary, middle and high school. The point of the club is to read 15 books and represent your school at a district competition. So you can tell it's a pretty big commitment to join. Not only do you have to be an avid reader but you also have to remember every little detail about the book. From the setting and characters to remembering the authors name. It’s CRAZY!
