    Any student who is interested in a field trip to Europe next summer to study the Holocaust should attend the interest meeting on Wednesday, February 21st. The meeting will start promptly at 6:00 PM in Ms. Breitenfeld’s room (E122).

    Monroe High School has been funded for the Upward Bound Math and Science program. This program is intended to help lower achieving students remediate to become college ready. The program features after-school tutoring  twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays; summer enrichment on a college campus; and scholarships to attend a two-year or four-year college or university. Upward bound is accepting freshman, sophomore, and junior applications. First-generation college students will be given preference. Please see your guidance counselor to pick up an application. For students already enrolled in Upward Bound, required tutoring begins Monday February 5th 3:15 – 5:15pm in E127.

    All students are invited to Weddington High School on Saturday, February 17th from 10am to 12pm for free ACT Test Preparation. Students must see a counselor to sign up. There will be another session on Saturday, February 24th 10am-12pm at Monroe High School, with transportation provided from select spots around Monroe. Please contact a counselor for details.

    The Prom Event is a fairytale day created for Junior and Senior girls in need of FREE prom dresses, shoes, and accessories. A special inspirational guest speaker will encourage and empower young ladies to feel comfortable in their own identity.
    The event will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at The Bottle Factory located at 302 W Franklin Street in Monroe. Our effort is made possible through invaluable volunteer, donor, and community support.

    • Organizing/going thru dresses, shoes and accessories prior to event.
    • Set-up morning of event (8-11)
    • Working the event (10:30-3) (females only) food service, assisting with shoppers from registration to shopping to check out & prayer team.

    We are requesting donations of dresses (prom, evening, & cocktail), dressy shoes, clutches, and jewelry. These donations can be dropped off at The Closet located at 104 S Hayne St. in downtown Monroe on Tuesdays from 9am-12pm. Donations can also be taken to Southbrook Community Church located at 5607 Weddington Rd., Matthews, NC 28104. For additional drop-off options, please contact us at 866-367-8833.

    Monroe High School operates on a traditional school calendar. Monroe High School's front office is open from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. when school is in session and from 7:30 a.m -3:30 p.m. on teacher workdays.
