Daily Announcements

    Daily announcements are available using several communication channels:
    1. Announcements are posted here on this page.
    2. Announcements are read over the PA in the office.
    3. Announcements are posted daily to the CATA website homepage.
    4. Some announcements will be posted to the CATA Facebook and Twitter pages.
    5. All announcements need to be approved by administration before they are posted.
    General Announcements: 
    • Senior Tributes are on sale now! 
      Parents - this is your last opportunity to reserve space for a senior tribute. The yearbook staff must have payment by October 31st in order to guarantee space for a tribute. Bring check or cash to Ms. Christensen in The Den or order online at https://yearbookforever.com/ (search for CATA). We will not have any extensions and can only sell the space that we have allotted, once the spaces are gone, we will close sales. Don't miss out on your chance to honor your senior!

    • Every day, we are committed to fostering a Culture of Respect here at CATA! Next week, (Oct. 23-27) we will celebrate Culture of Respect Week! Each day we will focus on a different topic that will help us all be more mindful. Monday, as we kick-off our week, we will focus on the need to Be Kind Online, Tuesday is Mental Health Awareness Day, please wear yellow! Wednesday will be "You Have a Voice Day", Thursday is Diversity Awareness Day, and Friday will be CATA Culture of Respect Day. Show your pride by wearing Cougar Colors!

    • Attention underclassmen who were absent for class pictures: the makeup date is Wednesday, October 25th. You will be called to the media center during first block. If you would like to order pictures, please pick up an order form outside the main office or in The Den. Bring your order form and payment to the photographer on the 25th. If you had your picture taken and want to have it redone, you must bring your photo package with you to the photographer when called.

    Student Life Organizations:
    • Attention CATA, the Fashion and Hands Helping Others Clubs are working together to collect clothing and hygiene products for the people of Puerto Rico. Please consider donating some items to help out! There will be a collection box in Ms. Hinson and Ms. Caseys rooms for the next two weeks starting on October 23rd!

    • Fashion Club will meet on Tuesdays after school. New members welcome!

    • Are you interested in photography, writing or design? If so consider joining yearbook club. We meet every Monday from 3:35-5:00. Come check out all the advantages involved with being a part of this club.

    • Weekly Athletics:

      Friday, October 20th:
      HOME – Football vs. Anson – 7:30 pm -Senior Night – Football, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Women’s Tennis, Women’s Golf – before the game, Band @ Halftime
      AWAY – Women’s Tennis – NCHSAA Regionals – Salisbury, NC (students will be marked out in Powerschool)


    Performances/Performing Arts/Band & Music News
    • The Performing Arts Academy will present two shows, "Tibet Through the Red Box" and "Dark Road" this Sunday at 2:30 pm. Admission is $5.00. Please come out and support us as we head off to our fall competition.

    • Have you seen our color guard perform with the Band of Blue this season? Do you have dance experience and would love to spin a flag or rifle? CATA Winter Season is about to begin. There will be an interest meeting and audition on Monday , October 23 from 4:00-6:00 PM in the band room. Please plan on attending and wearing athletic clothing. Please also register for Winter Guard on the band website www.cataband.org.

    • The CATA Jazz Band and Jazz Combo registration is now open! Please visit the band website at www.cataband.org to register. Please also plan on attending the interest meeting and audition on Tuesday, October 24th from 4:00-5:30 PM in the band room.
    • Students, are you interested in becoming a teacher? UNC Charlotte's Teacher Recruitment team will be here on November 1st to talk to interested students about their teaching program. Sign up for this event on the College Events page on the School Counseling website. Attendance requires teacher approval. Please see Ms. Cole if you have questions.

    •  Class of 2018 Graduation will be held at Winthrop University Coliseum, Rock Hill on Saturday June 9, 2018  6:00 pm.
