  • CATA Robotics Teams Place in Competition

    On Saturday, November 16, 2019 four teams from the CATA Robotics Club participated in the UCPS Fall Robotics Challenge. There were 34 registered teams from High Schools throughout Union County. The morning was spent determining an upper and lower bracket.

  • Environmental Science Students Clean Up Local Creek

    On Friday October 25, 2019 the Environmental Club assisted Ms. Kopchick’s Freshman class in cleaning Bearskin Creek. From the club were two seniors Zoe Helms and Rylee Outlaw, who led the students in cleaning the creek.

  • UNC Charlotte and UCPS announce scholarship in honor of Ellis “Reed” Parlier

    On Oct. 24, UNC Charlotte and UCPS announced a joint partnership to ensure that CATA graduate Reed Parlier's legacy will continue for many years to come: the Ellis “Reed” Parlier Memorial Scholarship.

  • Sheriff's Office Visits Canine Club Meeting

    Members of the Canine Club had a dog-gone good time at September’s monthly meeting thanks to special visitors from the Union County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit! Lieutenant James, Deputy Grant, Deputy Walden, Deputy Seaman, and Deputy Mills along with canine officers Zorro, Santos, Justice, and Sammy came to the meeting to talk to students about the use of canine officers.

  • UCPS holiday card contest winning design Union County Public Schools held its annual holiday card contest to celebrate student artists. Nearly 500 cards were submitted from a variety of grade levels and schools. This year's winning card was created by Emma Rombold, a ninth-grade student at Central Academy of Technology & Arts. This card will serve as the official 2019 UCPS Holiday Card. The card is available for purchase through this website. For a minimum donation of $10, you will receive a pack of 15 cards. All proceeds will benefit the art department at Central Academy of Technology & Arts.
