  • Spring Musical PreAuditions
    If you're interested in participating in the musical next year, Ms. Fairchild and Mr. Stiver are holding preauditions on June 6th from 11:30-3:00. This audition is open to the whole school and we would love to hear everyone's voice!

  • Attention CATA Seniors! Senior Week Activities:
    Tuesday is college or career t-shirt day. We will also be having field day during 4th block so dress in comfortable clothing and bring a white t-shirt for a fun surprise.

    Thursday is Toga-Thursday! Dress up in your best school appropriate togas and get ready to decorate some crowns during first block! We will also be serving breakfast.

    Friday is our senior field trip to the US National Whitewater Center. Be at the school at 7:30am to be ready to leave at 8:00 am. Bring sunscreen and extra money for food and lockers. An informative letter will be sent out to those attending the field trip. Also- wear your tie dye shirts!

  • The Jr. Beta Club is collecting eyeglasses, cell phones and hearing aides for those in need. If you have any of these items that you no longer use, please donate to the Lyon's Club. Donation Boxes have been placed in the main office, the media center, guidance, Ms. Henry and Ms. McAbee's rooms.

  • Register to Volunteer in UCPS Schools
    The district has a new volunteer registration process. If you'd like to volunteer in any of the UCPS schools you must complete the volunteer registration form located at https://www.ucpsvolunteers.com. This even applies to people who had registered in previous years.

  • CATA Presents A Raisin in the Sun

    This year at Central Academy of Technology & Arts, students from the theatre department will come together to perform A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry. The production will feature CATA’s first ever theatrical partnership with a local Union County elementary as the character of Travis in A Raisin in the Sun will be played by Malik Logan, a 5th grader from nearby Benton Heights.

  • CATA Presents Rock of Ages, the Musical

    This year at Central Academy of Technology & Arts, students from all over the school will come together to perform Rock of Ages, a musical set in the 1980s that has all the best 80s music you know and love. Songs from the musical include “We Built this City,” “I Wanna Rock,” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

  • Civil rights legend Minnijean Brown-Trickey shares Little Rock Nine experiences with CATA students

    n the fall of 1957, the world watched as Minnijean Brown-Trickey walked past armed guards and an angry mob into the formerly all-white Little Rock Central High School. At the time, Brown-Trickey didn’t realize that being a member of the Little Rock Nine would spark her decades-long advocacy of civil rights, which most recently brought her to CATA on Feb. 25 where she talked to students about her experiences overcoming racism.
