• Connect Ed - Jan. 22

Good evening, Piedmont families. This is Dr. Strickland with the Week in Preview for January 23 – 25, 2019.  It’s a short week, but still a great time to continue our great adventure of LEARNING! On Wednesday this week, we’ll have our last home basketball game. If your student would like to attend, they will stay after school and will be called to the gym after our bus and car riding students have been dismissed. Please have rides ready to pick up students attending the basketball game by 6:30.

Also, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) announced last week that there are errors occurring in the software that all North Carolina school districts use to report student grades.  NCDPI and PowerSchool identified a malfunction with the grade calculation function currently used by PowerTeacher Pro.

Union County Public Schools is currently assessing all students’ grades to determine if there has been any impact on grades in our school system.  Be assured that the grades your son or daughter received up to now will not be negatively impacted by the new calculations.

As a result, UCPS is extending the report card period to February 7, 2019.  Report cards will not be issued on January 31st.  Our school will provide an update once all assessments are complete.

We’re looking forward to a great week at Piedmont Middle School where Every Minute Matters!

If you have questions, feel free to contact administrators at our school.
