  • Hill Reflects on XC Career

    Dominant. That’s the only word appropriate to describe Madeline Hill’s illustrious four-year Cross Country career at Cuthbertson High. Madeline’s high school accomplishments consist of fifteen first place finishes, three NCHSAA 3A Midwest regional first place finishes, and two NCHSAA 3A State Championship individual titles. We talk about Madeline’s Cross Country career as a whole, her secrets to success, and what’s next after high school.

  • Health Classes Study Emotional / Mental Health

    Students in Ms. Helms’, Ms. Marchand’s, and Mr. Caputi’s Health classes have been studying a Mental / Emotional health unit this week. Students learned about conditions such as Bi-Polar Disorder, anxiety, stress, depression, and eating disorders. The students researched famous people who had mental illnesses, gained knowledge of stress management techniques, learned about the importance of family and friend support, and had the opportunity to participate in a Mental Scavenger Hunt and life management skills discussion.

  • Preview for Cuthbertson Men’s Varsity Basketball 2021

    2021 brings great change to the Men’s Varsity Basketball team, beyond COVID-19 protocols and restrictions. With a new Head Coach, and eight new varsity players, this team is a clean slate. Christopher Caputi, previously the assistant coach for the 2019-20 season, has been elevated to Head Coach. This change has Tre Branham, one of five seniors on the team this season, very excited. “I'm looking forward to a new opportunity to win and start a new legacy under Coach Caputi. He's a great coach who has his mind set on winning and improving all the time, and he pushes us to want to be winners.”

  • Kennedy Completes Officer Certificate Program

    We are proud to announce that our very own School Resource Officer, Deputy James Kennedy, has successfully completed the North Carolina Justice Academy School Resource Officer Certificate Program. He completed the program with over four hundred hours of required training. Deputy Kennedy has dedicated himself to making our school safer for our students and staff. He is the 297th participant to complete the program since it began in 2002.

  • Panorama Survey 2021 - Union County Public Schools values the feedback of our students, parents and staff.  In an effort to continue high quality, rigorous learning experiences and social-emotional support for students, the school district has partnered with Panorama Education to administer a survey to 3rd – 12th graders. The survey window is Feb. 24 – Mar. 10 and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The link will be sent via Canvas and students will need their Student ID for access. Panorama safeguards student privacy and all responses will be kept confidential. The survey results will be used to improve support and resources at the school and district level. Click HERE to review survey questions.
