CHS senior Maia Vierengel was recently awarded a Union County Education Foundation Scholarship. Part of the application process was to write a “Teacher Tribute” to a UCPS teacher outlining what this teacher had meant to her personally and to her education. Maia, who plays alto and soprano saxophone and has been in Band all four years of her high school career, chose Band Director Todd Ebert to write about in her essay.
Many Cuthbertson students have not yet faced the daunting task of a formal job interview. Last week, CTE students got their chance to put their best foot forward with businessmen from the Cuthbertson community. Mr. Michael Vaccaro, CTE teacher, welcomed Patrick Ryan of Goodwin Recruiting, Vince Frattaroli of Continental Tire, Dave Koch of AIG, and Dave Kobziak of Wells Fargo to conduct mock interview with students. The four volunteers generously donated an entire day to interview students from 4 sections of Principles of Business and Career Management.
Mrs. Joellen Plyler knows that her students need to learn more than just basic marketing principles to be competitive in the 21st century. Wanting to fully prepare her students for careers in the future marketplace, Mrs. Plyler supplemented her standard curriculum with activities related to digital literacy and social media marketing.
