John DeLucia (Principal)
About Mr. DeLucia
Originally from Long Island, NY, Mr .DeLucia moved to North Carolina in 2007 where he began teaching PE/Health at Parkwood Middle School. He began his administrative journey at Parkwood High School in 2016, where he served for the next five years.
Mr. DeLucia left the Parkwood Community during the 2021-2022 school year to join the Piedmont Community. He has now made his way back to Parkwood Middle School as its principal during the 2022-2023 school year.
He is very excited to be reunited with the Parkwood Community. Through his experience, Mr. DeLucia believes that all students can achieve anything if they put their minds to it through goal-setting, focus and hard work. His educational philosophy is that building relationships, unlocking potential, collaboration, meaningful experiences, and leading by example are most important to everyone's success.
His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in communications/public relations from The Ohio State University, a master’s degree in physical education from Adelphi University and a postgraduate degree in school administration from Wingate University.
Mr. DeLucia currently lives in Union County with his wife, Brittany, son Brody, daughter Eloise and daughter Magnolia.

Steven Gostomski (Assistant Principal)
About Mr. Gostomski
Originally from Dunkirk, NY, Mr. Gostomski moved to Charlotte in 2000 to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After spending 2 years working with students who had behavioral and emotional disabilities, he decided to obtain his certification to be a Middle School Math teacher. Since becoming certified, Mr. Gostomski has obtained his Master’s Degree in Administration and Leadership from Capella University, and also obtained his National Board Certification.
Mr. Gostomski spent the first 7 years of his educational career in Union County, with 5 of them being at Parkwood Middle School teaching 6th and 7th grade math. Following this, he transferred to CMS where he taught at Jay M. Robinson Middle School and most recently served as the Dean of Students at Southwest Middle School. He is excited to be back home at Parkwood Middle School to serve as the Assistant Principal and help support the students and this wonderful community.
In his free time, Mr. Gostomski enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle, who is also an educator, his two sons Landon and Logan, and playing with his dog Ellie.

Kim Hinson (Assistant Principal)
About Ms. Hinson
Assistant Principal Ms. Kim Hinson is from Mint Hill, NC and has worked for UCPS for 16 years. This is her 4th year at Parkwood Middle as an Assistant Principal. She attended Wingate University for both her BS in Recreation Administration, Master of Arts in Teaching, and an add-on degree for Educational Leadership. Ms. Hinson enjoys spending time at the beach as much as possible. She has a fur baby named Sunny.
Work History: 20 years in education, 16 years with UCPS, 2 years with CMS, 1 year with Holy Trinity, 1 year with Union Academy.

Kimberly Williams (Assistant Principal)
About Ms. Williams
Ms. Williams, a native of the Charlotte region, earned her Bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University. She began her career teaching Health and Physical Education in the Charlotte area, where she also served as an Athletic Director and First Responder. While focusing on her teaching career, Ms. Williams pursued a Master’s degree in Physical Education through East Carolina University’s remote program. Recognizing her passion for educational leadership, she obtained National Board Certification and then pursued her Add-on License in School Leadership and Administration to expand her impact.
During her time with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Ms. Williams had the opportunity to work in multiple schools and was selected to join the inaugural staff of Rea Farms STEAM Academy. Her experience at Rea Farms, combined with her leadership training, prepared her to transition into school administration. After a decade in the classroom, she accepted a role as an Assistant Principal in Union County Public Schools (UCPS).
In her free time, Ms. Williams loves spending quality time with her family, soaking up the sunshine outdoors, and chasing new adventures—whether it's hiking in the mountains or relaxing by the beach. She embraces every opportunity to explore, unwind, and make memories along the way with her ever growing family.
