Fifth grade is an exciting year when students not only continue their elementary education, but prepare for the move to the middle school.  Academic topics include: 

• Math: numbers and operations, measurement, geometry, data analysis and probability, and algebra.
• Science: weather, ecosystems, motions and designs, landforms.
• Writing/Reading: realistic fiction, non-fiction, poetry, testing genre, launching of readers/writers workshop.
• Social Studies: We cover all aspects of American history.  We begin with the exploration of America through current events.
