Students will receive a gold cord and a special seal on their diploma for achieving the following academic requirements: 

*Student must have a 3.5 unweighted GPA on the last day of school.

*No requirements of the NC Scholars Program can be taken pass/fail.

Course requirements for the program include: 

• (4) English-I, II, III & IV
• (4) Math-Algebra I & II, Geometry & 1 math higher than Algebra II
• (3) Science-Earth, Biology & Chemistry or Physics
• (3) Social Studies-World History, Civics & US History
• (2) Foreign Language-both credits must be same language
• (1)Health/PE
• (1) Career & Technical Education (CTE)-classes with a VOCATS exam
• (1) Arts Education-dance, music, theatre or visual art
• (5) Electives-2/5 must be a level II or advanced course (honors/AP)
