Dear MRHS Parents and Friends:
It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to Marvin Ridge High School. We have established our presence in the community, county, region, and state with excellence in academics, athletics, the cultural arts, and in our extracurricular offerings.
The NC Report Card includes information about class sizes, attendance, teacher quality, student/overall school performance on state exams, and school safety. This year, we were classified as an A school and exceeded growth expectations. We lead our region in ACT and SAT scores, and test more students for Advanced Placement credit than any school in our district. Marvin Ridge High School offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, an extensive selection of Advanced Placement classes, and activities for every student through student life, the arts, and athletics.
Statistics from our graduating class of 2022 also reflect the academic excellence and commitment of our students. The graduation rate for this cohort of students is 98%, and their scholarship awards exceeded $15 million with more than 98% of our graduates planning to continue their studies at colleges and universities.
We are "One Team on One Mission" working with our parents, booster organizations, PTSO and student leadership to continually strive for improvement. Our school motto, “Passport to the World”, symbolizes our shared vision and mission as a world-class school with a global focus.
We look forward to working with our community and school family as we strive to provide the highest quality educational experience for our students. 2022-2023 promises to be a year of continuous improvement and growth at Marvin Ridge High!
Sincerely,
Matt Lasher, Principal
