Meet our First Grade DLI Teachers!
Hello everyone, I am Maria Mónica Ospina and I would like to tell you a little about me, I'm from Colombia, a beautiful country full of beautiful things (customs and traditions). I have several years of experience working for an international school where I had the opportunity to teach children from different cultures, which has brought me experiences in professional and personal ways.
I studied preschool education in my native country. I’m also getting my Master’s degree in language didactics at Universidad Internacional de la Rioja (UNIR)
For me education is one of the most important things in life, it is a stage in which having a meaningful and positive experience marks the human being for the rest of the life.
I am very excited to be part of the Weddington team and to have the opportunity to share my culture, learn from this education system, culture and, above all learn from my wonderful students, I am sure it will be a great year.
" Hola amigas y amigos!"
I am María Paz Juricic from Santiago, Chile. I’ve been teaching for 11 years and on 2020 my family and I decided to come to NC to live this new adventure and share our Chilean culture.
I got my Teaching degree at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and kept studying over the years: Language and communication for Elementary school, Positive discipline and Singapore Math Method for preschoolers, among others.
I have two smart, loving and fun daughters. One of them is attending Weddington as well. The other one is too young yet and stays at home with dad.
I am thrilled about teaching at Weddington Elementary and being part of the Wildcats Family.
