Porter Ridge High serves ninth through 12th-grade students and is located in Indian Trail. Our school is leadership-based and teaches the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens. We offer an Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone program for students who want to complete a challenging college-preparation curriculum that results in an AP and a standard high school diploma. We are home to a competitive athletic program, an extensive extra- and co-curricular program featuring numerous clubs, our incredible Band of Pirates, an Air Force JROTC program and many career pathways.

Dr. Kim Fisenne (Principal)
About Dr. Fisenne
Dr. Kim Fisenne is the Principal at Porter Ridge High School. She is an 19-year Union County employee and has served as a High School Principal for the past nine years as well as Assistant Principal in both elementary and high schools. Dr. Fisenne earned her B.S. from William Smith College in New York and completed her teaching degree at Queens University in Charlotte. Dr. Fisenne holds a Masters of Art in Education in Administration and Supervision and a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Wingate University.
Dr. Fisenne is married to Stephen and has four children: one that completed her master's degree, one her doctoral degree, and two with bachelor's degrees.
Dr. Fisenne began her career in education as a science teacher in a neighboring county, and prior to that, worked in a research laboratory studying genetics. During the 2012-2013 school year, she was named UCPS Assistant Principal of the Year, and during her teaching years, she was named West Charlotte Teacher of the Year. During the 2013-2014 school year, Dr. Fisenne was recognized by the North Carolina Association of Student Councils as Richard Cansler Administrator of the Year.
Dr. Fisenne believes that the role of education is to empower students to discover their passions and to reach their goals, whether that is college or career. By challenging students to be their best she believes that we contribute to our local community and to our country.

Dr. Josh Wall (Assistant Principal)
About Dr. Wall
Dr. Josh Wall is in his second year as an assistant principal at Porter Ridge High School. He is a 20-year Union County Public Schools employee and previously served as a social studies teacher and student council adviser at Sun Valley High (10 years) and as an assistant principal at Central Academy of Technology & Arts (8 years). He has served in public education for 23 years as a teacher and administrator.
Dr. Wall graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a degree in Social Science. In addition, he has a Master’s degree in Political Science from Appalachian State University, and an Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S.) and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) from Wingate University. Dr. Wall earned his teaching certification from Greensboro College. His first teaching position was at Western Guilford High in Greensboro, along with his twin sister, Jennifer (who is still teaching Spanish).
Dr. Wall loves spending time with his family. He has previously served on the executive board of the North Carolina Association of Student Councils and officiated football as a Head Linesman or Line Judge for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.
