  • AFJROTC visits Parris Island

    On Tuesday, 20 September 2022, 15 Piedmont and Porter Ridge AFJROTC cadets, along with cadets from Forest Hills High School, stepped off a bus into the sweltering heat and humidity of Parris Island, SC. They had arrived at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot for a three day field trip they won't soon forget.

  • Student artists receive accolades

    This year several PRHS artists won awards and honorable mentions at the 2022 Union County Community Arts Council (UCCAC) Student Artist Showcase. Art teachers Kristen Baucom and Nicole Crowley were each allowed to select 8 pieces of student artwork to submit for the art show.

  • World Languages mural winner

    Spring semester of 2022 the Spanish Club decided to have a World Language Mural Contest for students to enter with their ideas for what to paint in a mural in the lower F wing. The winner, sophomore Hanna Areh, was announced in February of this year.

    Attention Pirates! This year’s homecoming theme is A Night in Paris! Homecoming ticket sales start this Friday! Buy your ticket at all lunches, September 23 through Friday, October 7th, for $25 cash or check! The dance will be held on Saturday, October 15th from 8-11 pm. We hope to see you there!

  • PRHS Club/Organization Schedule Announcements

    -If you are interested in developing your leadership skills, promoting community bonding, college readiness, accessing viable post-secondary educational and vocational opportunities, visiting Historically Black Colleges come join Club Umoja. Enrollment forms are available through October 7th in Room F105F. An enrollment fee of $20 covers this year's club t-shirt. 

    -Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) will have their first meeting this coming Tuesday, October 4th directly afterschool in F100. Club membership is $20.00 which includes state dues and club t-shirt. If you are not able to attend, please stop by F100 to speak to Ms. Ellis.   

    -Anyone interested in applying for Beta Club should fill out the online application. The application can be found on the Student Canvas announcements, The Beta Club page on the school website, or on the classroom doors of any sponsor: Mr. Beard, Ms. Whitley or Mr. Ruhland. Students must be in 10-12th grade and have an unweighted GPA of 3.5. Returning members do not need to fill out a form. The first meeting will be on October 11th at 7:15am in the auditorium. Applications are due on October 7th.  

    -Join National English Honors Society/Creative Writing in Mrs. Hill's room, G107 on Friday, October 7. We will plan activities for Fall Fest and other fun things we'd like to do! Anyone can join, but juniors and seniors may qualify for the honors society. See Mrs. Hill for information. 

    -HOSA will be having its monthly meeting on October 4th at 7:45am. Please report to E212 as soon as the doors open. We will be discussing our upcoming events in October! We hope to see you there!  

    -The next meeting of Mu Alpha Theta (PR's math honor society) is this Tuesday, October 4th, at 7:45am in E-210 (Mr. Howard's room).  

    -The MHA-SAVE Club has their next meeting Monday, Oct 3rd after school from 3:10 to 4:00 in Mrs. Smart's room, G114. The meeting theme is “Dealing With Stress”. The themed activity is making your own stress balls! Brings your friends and we hope to see you there!  

    -The Science National Honor Society will be having its first meeting of the year for new and returning members on Monday, October 3rd at 3:10 pm in E207D. 

    -The Spanish Club will have its next meeting October 11th in room F102. Students interested in being part of the club are still welcome. Don't forget to drop off this week or the day of the meeting any cultural item you want to share for the Media Center display and the candy for the Fall Festival.  

    -Art Honor Society members- reminder that we will have another meeting after school this Thursday, October 6th in G201. Please make sure that you drop off your pumpkin to Crowley or Baucom, or bring it with you to the meeting on Thursday.

  • The State of North Carolina requires the Meningococcal vaccine for students. The second dose of this vaccine is required prior to the start of a student's Senior year.

    Vaccine documentation for all current Juniors must be on file here at school prior to the start of the 2021-22 school year to meet this school enrollment requirement, per the State of NC. Individuals born before 1/1/2003 are exempt from this requirement.

  • UCPS announces 2022-2023 Principal of the Year finalists

    Joy and excitement were the theme on Thursday, Sept. 29 as Union County Public Schools (UCPS) Superintendent Dr. Andrew Houlihan, senior leaders, and Board of Education members revealed the names of the top 10 UCPS Principal of the Year finalists by surprising them at their schools.

  • 2023 UCPS graduation schedule available

    Union County Public Schools 2023 graduation schedule is available. Graduations will be held in May and June. For more information, view the schedule. In addition, all traditional high school graduations will be live streamed on the school’s YouTube page for public viewing.

  • UCPS to hold six bond information meetings

    On Nov. 8, Union County voters will decide on $134,405,000 million in school bonds. UCPS will hold six informational meetings about the 2022 bond package and explain the bond history in the county, why we need this bond and the 10-year plan to address capacity, new construction and facility upgrades and renovations.
