  • PRHS Castaways bring home awards at NCTC

    PRHS Theater III and IV students competed in the North Carolina Theatre Conference (NCTC) High School Play Festival on Friday, November 8th at Rocky River High School. The cast presented The Actor's Nightmare and Tracks.

  • PRHS celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month

    September 15th to October 15th was Hispanic Heritage month. Porter Ridge celebrated in a variety of ways. Students who have taken Spanish at PR honored Hispanic culture by doing daily announcements of famous Hispanic people who have made a huge impact.

  • Cross Country: running strong this season

    The PRHS Cross Country team is running strong this season! The team has pulled through thick and thin and each team member has really shown strength. Between runners such as Caroline Fagan and Dominic Conroy placing nearly every meet and the team scoring a second place win at Parkwood, the team is running hard.

    Come join us for a night of student written and directed works as Porter Ridge High School's Castaways present The Beginning Theatre Showcase on Friday, November 22nd at 7pm. Tickets are $5.

  • ASVAB Test Information

    The ASVAB will be given on December 6th. ASVAB stands for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, which is a multiple-choice test that helps students identify which Military Occupational Specialties would be best for them. Interested 10th-12th grade students must sign up on the Google form. Google Sign-up Form

  • PRHS Club/Organization Schedule Announcements

    -HOSA will be having its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 19th at 7:40am. We will be discussing our service project for December.

    -Interact will be meeting Thursday, Nov. 21st at 7:40am in the auditorium. We will be discussing the Angel Tree items for a local elementary school.

    -It's time for togas! The Junior Classical League will meet on Thursday, November 21 in G111 after school to plan a celebration in December and take the club picture for the yearbook. Bring a bed sheet or blanket to make your toga.

    -Attention all NHS members. The next meeting of the PRHS NHS will be Nov. 26th at 7:35am in the auditorium. As a reminder, all T2 community service hours are due no later than Nov. 27th at 3pm. New inductees must complete and submit hours for both T1 and T2 for a total of 6 hours. All hours should be reported using the online tool on the NHS school web page. As always, if you have questions, please see Mr. Crider in F108 before the deadline.

    -FBLA members are invited to hear William Cheeks, Eastern States Regional Director-Jump$tart Coalition for Financial Literacy, on Tuesday, November 26th from 4:00-6:00pm in the Media Center. Topic of conversation will be financial literacy and the importance of a credit score. Dinner will be served; business attire a must! Please RSVP to Ms. Ellis by end of day Wednesday, November 20th.
