  • 2019-2020 Course Registration Information-It's time to start choosing classes for next year! See the registration timeline below for more info.
    Registration Timeline: 
    •Feb 13th-9th grade, Feb 19th-10th grade, Feb 27th-11th grade- Students attended a presentation with counselors. 
    •March 6th-Students receive registration materials in 2nd period
    •March 14th- March 16th - Last day for students to enter course selections in PowerSchool
    •Counselors will meet with students to review courses selected from March 15th-April 18th through 2nd period classes.
    •Students return course selections signed by parents to 2nd period teacher the day after their counselor meeting.

  • SAT Free Prep Sessions-Huntington Learning Center-Weddington is partnering with UCPS to provide our students with test taking tips and tricks for the SAT. Students who attend earn participation points toward their school’s #UCPSCollegeReady goal! Click here for the flyer with details.
    UCPS will be administering the SAT to all juniors for free.

  • PRHS Club/Organization Schedule Announcements

    • FBLA field trip permission forms to the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond located in uptown Charlotte on Wednesday, May 1st are available now in F100. Forms and money are due to Ms. Ellis by Friday, March 29th.
    • HOSA will be having a meeting Tuesday, March 26th at 7:40 a.m. in E212 to go over Blood Drive information. Please plan to attend if you are interested in helping at the Blood Drive.
    • Interact will be having a meeting Thursday, March 28th at 7:40 a.m. to go over Blood Drive information. Please plan to attend if you are interested in helping at the Blood Drive.

  • PR Career Pathways-PRHS has a host of career pathways that support students as they select their courses throughout their high school years. Each of these pathways includes careers students can explore and related courses offered at PR and in UCPS. These pathways assist students in choosing courses as they prepare for future studies and the work force. From Animal Science to Arts and Education, PRHS has many courses a student can choose from as they plan for the future.   • PRHS student and his team qualify for USA Hockey Nationals!

    Joshua Burns is currently a junior at Porter Ridge High and from the young age of 7 has played ice hockey as a goalie. After watching the movie Miracle he was determined to make it to the Olympics for ice hockey. Although he’s not to the Olympics yet, he has been sacrificing his weekends and weekday evenings to get closer to his goal and will be competing with his team in the USA Hockey National Championship!

  • Pharmacy Tech: real world career skills

    Porter Ridge High School offers many fun and rewarding academic programs, among these is the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pharmacy Technician Academy. In this program students explore the world of pharmacy, including related jobs; roles in a pharmacy; different types of medications, including what they are used for and how they react with different variables and the science of medication.
