A scholarship search is time consuming and hard work. To begin a scholarship search, start with the college you are considering attending. Log on to the college's web site and type in 'scholarships' on the college search engine. Or, you can find their Financial Aid Office website and browse for information there. The next step is to read the information and apply for the scholarships you meet the criteria for.
Another method of searching for scholarships is to go online and Google 'scholarships'. If you know the area you plan to major in, or the career you plan to complete, you can narrow your search by entering the career. You can also narrow your search further by putting in the state. Example: 'Nursing scholarships in North Carolina'.

Student must be academically sound and have no discipline referrals for the school year. It not only provides a full ride, but it offers life-changing summer enrichment and Discovery Fund experiences. The Morehead-Cain Foundation seeks motivated, courageous, and inquisitive leaders interested in embracing new and unknown experiences. Applicants must exhibit four criteria: leadership, moral force of character, scholarship, and physical vigor. To be eligible, a student must be a competitive applicant to UNC Chapel Hill and on track to graduate in the spring of 2020. Students can apply Early Decision to another institution and still apply for the Morehead-Cain. The four-year scholarship includes full tuition, room, board, a grant to implement a service project of the Scholar’s own design, and four summers of experiences that will develop leadership skills, social awareness and an international perspective. Students must be applicants for freshman enrollment at UNC Charlotte in an undergraduate program for the fall term immediately following their high school graduation. Note: Students must be admitted to UNC Charlotte to receive a Levine Scholarship. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Students must demonstrate a commitment to community service, hold an academic record that reflects a sustained passion for knowledge, and possess a capacity for ethical leadership that elevates fellow students to a higher standard. This program invests in student from low- and middle-income families. Students will have opportunities to develop personally, professionally, and academically through this program. In mid-December, the Goodnight Scholars Program will issue invitations to apply to prospective first-year students who have applied for fall 2020 admission. This invitation will be sent to the email used on the general NC State admissions application. Students who don't receive an invitation can self-nominate. EC Scholars exhibit outstanding academic performance, engagement in the community, effective leadership skills, and embrace a study abroad experience. This scholarship award includes full in-state tuition for 8 semesters, living arrangement in the newest residence hall on College Hill, priority registration, a $5,000 stiped for Study Abroad, leadership and research internships, and various trips, among other things.Application: Students must complete an undergraduate admissions essay to ECU by the priority deadline.
