Technology Services provides a robust, 21st-century learning environment for Union County Public Schools (UCPS).
Our team is dedicated to maintaining a highly scalable and secure technology infrastructure that supports a wide array of district initiatives. This includes the implementation and management of high-speed fiber networks, cloud-based platforms, data systems, and IoT devices that underpin both instructional and administrative functions. Our end-to-end management of hardware, software, and cybersecurity ensures the reliability of devices, systems, and connectivity essential for classroom instruction and remote learning.
To further ensure equitable access, UCPS Technology Services has standardized devices across grades 3-12, implementing Chromebook and Windows-based systems that support the curriculum's diverse needs. This standardization enables consistent professional development for staff and creates a unified support framework for troubleshooting, security updates, and instructional software deployment.
In addition to robust device management, we integrate multi-factor authentication (MFA) and enhanced VPN solutions to safeguard network access, ensuring compliance with modern cybersecurity protocols. We prioritize data privacy and protection, deploying end-to-end encryption and leveraging advanced firewalls, content filtering, and endpoint detection systems.
Our commitment extends to continuous professional development for staff, equipping educators and administrative stakeholders with the skills and resources necessary to leverage technology effectively. By fostering collaboration through platforms like Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and Apple, we enable data-driven decision-making and personalized learning experiences tailored to meet the needs of every student.
Through these efforts, UCPS Technology Services ensures that every classroom is prepared to deliver a dynamic, technology-rich learning experience while keeping students safe, engaged, and connected.

UCPS partners with Project 10Million
Project 10Million is an initiative aimed at delivering internet connectivity to millions of underserved student households at no cost to them. Project 10Million offers 100GBs/year of free data and free mobile hotspots to eligible students participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)--one per household. Schools will need to identify and qualify students as being NSLP-participants. Applications for the National School Lunch Program are available online at https://www.lunchapplication.com/ or by contacting your school’s cafeteria. Approval letters are sent to qualifying students and the letter must be presented to the School Hotspot Administrator to prove eligibility for the Project 10Million program. Schools will then request a hotspot for the eligible student from Technology Services and it will be available for the student to pick up at the school.
UCPS has applied for Emergency Connectivity Funding through USAC to provide devices to students who are not eligible for the Project 10Million program. Funding announcements will be made in September. At this time there are no hotspots available except through Project 10Million. Check back for updates.
