• Remote Learning Guidance for Parents and Students

    Why is UCPS operating on a remote learning schedule?

    • Since the start of the 2024-2025 school year, students have missed four days of school due to severe weather conditions. 
    • Wednesday, Feb. 19 was the last day we could use without impacting the academic calendar.
    • Moving to this option on Thursday, Feb. 20 will keep the district from using upcoming teacher workdays and other alternative days to make up instructional time.

    What do I need to know about remote learning days?

    • Review the information below and be on the lookout for detailed guidance from your school and teachers via Finalsite. If your teacher communicates through Dojo, please check this platform for updates.
    • Teachers will not deliver lessons via live instruction.
    • All students are expected to complete work assignments. Students will have five days from Feb. 20 to turn in assignments given on remote learning day.
    • If you have questions, please contact your child’s teacher. 

    Remote learning guidance by level

    Elementary (K-5)

    • Schools will share assignment options for students.
    • Assignments will cover a variety of subjects by grade level.
    • If you have questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

    Middle (6-8)

    • Students should check Canvas for assignments. 
    • Teachers will post remote learning assignments by 9 a.m. 
    • Feb. 20 assignments will be marked remote learning.

    High (9-12)

    • Students should check Canvas for assignments. 
    • Teachers will post remote learning assignments by 9 a.m. 
    • Feb. 20 assignments will be marked remote learning.
    • Students who are enrolled at SPCC or in NCVPS and CCP courses should move forward with assignments as planned. If you have questions, please contact your teacher via normal communication protocols.
