UCPS Gives Back: Students and staff spread love this holiday season
Union County Public Schools is committed to serving our community. Each holiday season, students and staff work together to make a meaningful impact in our county by giving of their time, talents and resources.
Below are a few examples of ways UCPS Gives Back. From collecting donations for the animal shelter to organizing a warm clothes drive, Team UCPS participated in a variety of campaigns to bring joy to families across Union County.
- CATA held four drives and students collected food, clothes and organized a stocking stuffer drive for the Union County Christmas Bureau. In addition, the school raised $10,000 for local organizations.
- Union Elementary collected canned goods for the Kiwanis Club!
- Porter Ridge Middle held a campaign to provide gifts for students and families on their Giving Tree. Through sponsorships, 25 students will receive gifts from the school.
- The Marvin Ridge High Career Research & Observation Club partnered with Mavs Make a Difference for a holiday toy drive to support the Bright Blessings.
- The East Elementary Eagles collected more than 500 pairs of mittens and gloves for the Community Shelter of Union County.
- Rock Rest Elementary created cards for residents at a local nursing home.
- At Weddington Elementary, AIG students sponsored a food drive to support pantry packs. The students collected enough food to fill two vans.
- Each year, Forest Hills High partners with Walter Bickett Education Center for a holiday project. The Interclub Council visited the school and shared holiday fun with our youngest UCPS students.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
