Jennifer Cooper (Kensington Elementary)
What do you teach and why did you become a teacher?
I am a first grade teacher at Kensington Elementary. I became a teacher because I wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of children and their families.
How do you show your school spirit?
I attend students' extracurricular activities outside of school. I also teach "The Kindness Club" after school hours at Kensington.
What or who inspires you?
My family and friends.
In which other teacher’s class would you like to enroll for a day? Why?
My friend Dee's classroom because she's the GOAT!
What is one of your hidden talents?
Flower arranging.
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
Be kind and work hard.
What is a professional motto or quote that you “work” by?
"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, but the world may be a better place because I made a difference in the life of a child."
What do you enjoy most about working in Union County Public Schools?
EVERYTHING! My entire teaching career has been in UCPS. I'm beginning year 26!
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation.
