Diana Wojciechowski (South Providence School)
What do you teach and why did you become a teacher?
I am an EC teacher/behavior specialist. I teach students with behavior intensive needs at South Providence School. I became a teacher because I want to help students become successful and productive members of their community.
How do you show your school spirit?
I show my school spirit through celebration. I celebrate the small success I see each day with my students.
What or who inspires you?
My students’ smiles! Most of my students have had many negative experiences at school before they made it to my class. Seeing them enjoy coming to school is inspiring.
In which teacher’s class would you like to enroll for a day? Why?
I would enroll in our CTE automotive class at South Providence. Mr. Anderson is known for engaging lessons, and I would love to learn how to perform an oil change.
What is one of your hidden talents?
I love to complete DIY projects and design at home. I built and installed a cushioned bench in my kitchen and a new wood mantle on our fireplace.
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
You can learn something new every day. Do not be afraid to try anything and do not worry about what others may think or say.
What is a professional motto or quote that you “work” by?
"Communities are important for young children and youth, and the uses and benefits of community must be experienced to be learned." –Dr. Nicholas Hobbs
What do you enjoy most about working in Union County Public Schools?
Every day is different and busy in our school building. There is a new joy to be experienced every single day.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Instant confidence booster. Everyone is great at something and often needs a boost to share/show their talents with others. I want to be able to give others an instant boost.
