Khloey Marsh (Benton Heights Elementary)

What are your most and least favorite subjects and why?

My favorite subject is math and my least favorite is reading. I like math because I’m good at it. I love solving the different equations and problems.

Reading is a quiet activity and I’m a loud person. Sitting down and reading a book for hours isn’t really my thing. If I have to read, I will. I do well in the class.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?

I would travel to Hawaii. My dad told me two years ago that I am part Hawaiian. If I go there, I’d learn about a part of me that I never experienced before. The conversation came up because I saw a picture of my sister with his dad. I asked who it was and he told me it was my grandfather.

I would love to see the beaches even though I’m not a water person because I was stung by a jellyfish before. I’d love to try different foods, shop and learn to hula dance.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a lot of things. My top two would be a doctor or dentist. I like careers in the medical field because there are a lot of people in the world who need help. I’d like to be that person who helps. We made a collage about our dream jobs, colleges, cars and houses, which helped me land on those two.

If I became a doctor, I would like to be a surgeon or an obstetrician.

What do you do for fun?

I've been in three plays at school: Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and now The Little Mermaid. In Aladin, I played a prince who brought a gem, in Beauty in the Beast, I was Madame de la Grande Bouche, the wardrobe, and in The Little Mermaid, I am Ursula.

I didn’t get Jasmine in Aladdin, which I wanted. My mom told me there were no small parts, only small actors. I love her for it. She also said, “The older you get, you’ll get bigger parts.” Now, I have a big part so I believe her.

Outside of school, I dance and cheer. I have nieces I love to play with, too.

If you had to choose between spaghetti or pizza which would you choose?

I would choose spaghetti because there are different kinds. You can make alfredo or pasta salad, too.

What three words best describe you?

  • Energetic
  • Smart
  • Beautiful

What is your happiest school memory?

Fourth grade was the best. I made friends who really cared about me and are still my friends. They are kind. I don’t want to have lots of friends, just a few that are genuine. They support me and want what's best for me.

What advice would you give your parents or teachers?

My mom and I can both be stubborn and have our moments. The best advice I can give her and me is to be honest with each other and to apologize if necessary.

For teachers, I’d say, if something's not right, try fixing it fast so it doesn't turn into a bigger problem.
