Description

Super Sitter Training is a new program designed to prepare young people for the many responsibilities associated with caring for infants and young children.

Intended for youth ages 11 – 15, this program provides them with a range of injury prevention and safety skills as well as training in decision-making, basic childcare, leadership and professionalism.  Super Sitter Training is an interactive, activity-based program carefully designed for youth and how they learn best.

Super Sitter Training includes:

                   -  Infant and Child growth and development

                   -  Basic childcare

                    -  Age appropriate play activities

                   -  Positive discipline

                   -  Home safety

                   -  Basic first aid and CPR (not certifying)

                   -  Business aspects of babysitting

                   -  Responsibilities of being a primary caregiver

                   -  Communication and job skills

Super Sitter is a two-part class; you must attend both classes and complete a class project to receive a certificate.  Class will meet in Women & Children’s Center of Carolina Medical Center - Union. This is the new building which faces East Franklin Street.

Date: March 21 and March 28                       Time:  6:30pm –8:30pm
