In-District PD Participant Roster Form
The following information and form is for use by facilitators/instructors of in-district/UCPS professional development opportunities. Please complete the In-district PD/CEU Participant Blank Roster Form for any in-district/UCPS professional development event where CEUs are to be awarded. This form should be electronically submitted as an Excel spreadsheet (not a PDF) to Lisa Thompson upon the completion of each applicable event.
If participants sign in to an in-district PD event using a Google Form, for example, sponsoring departments are welcome to add the participants’ required fields/information in the Google Form/sign-in and then copy and paste responses over to the Participant Blank Roster Form/Excel spreadsheet. The fields include:
- School/Department Name
- Participant’s Name as listed on their professional license
- 10-digit UID number
- Participant's Position/Role in UCPS
The other required fields (Course Name, Completion Date, Type of CEU, # of earned CEUs, etc.) would need to be completed and verified by the event facilitator/instructor or designee before being electronically submitted for processing.

Reservation CalendarRent our facilities
You can submit your reservation through the Google Staff Development Sites Calendar. Login to Google UCPS and click on “calendars” tab to view the calendar and room availability. Click on “PDC & WBEC Reservations Request” drop down tab. Enter the name of the meeting, room number, times, your name, and your email address. You will not receive an email confirmation. If the room is not available you will be contacted. Refer back to the calendar after 1 business day to ensure your room has been reserved. Any questions please contact Swapnika Duggu at 704.290.1515.
Non-UCPS entities can rent our facilities.

- 3 Literacy
- As defined in G.S. 115C-270.30(b)(2): As “evidence-based" assessment, diagnosis, and intervention strategies for students not demonstrating reading proficiency. Oral language, phonemic and phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension shall be addressed in literacy-----related activities leading to license renewal.

As a condition of employment per NC State Board of Education (NCSBE) Policy LICN-005, Public School Units (PSUs) reserve the right to assign literacy requirements for any educator. UCPS has assigned literacy requirements to BK/Pre-K and 6-8.
Special Notes
- Speech Language Pathologists licensed in other subject areas must comply with renewal requirements established by the NCBOESLPA, as well as the above “Student Services Personnel K-12” requirements. Speech-Language Pathologists who are licensed in SLP only must follow renewal requirements established by the NCBOESLPA. However all SLP’s must complete the process stated below in red.
- Validated Three-year License Holders: License holders with a validated three-year license are required to complete 8 renewal credits (including the specific categories) to renew their license.
- Expired Emergency Permit: License holders with an expired Emergency Permit should contact their designated Licensure Specialist. Requirements are specific to licensure and employment status.
- Expired Lateral Entry License: License holders with an expired Lateral Entry License should contact their designated Licensure Specialist. Requirements are specific to licensure and employment status.
- Participate Teachers: These requirements do not pertain to Participate Teachers.
CEU Information
- CEU-overages cannot be carried over to the next renewal cycle. They are posted in renewal cycles based on the completion date. If the completion date is during your current renewal cycle, then that is where it will remain.
- If you have met all of the current CEU requirements, you cannot renew your professional license until your renewal year.
Professional educator’s license renewal information
- Log in to your online account and complete the required actions, which include: completing applicant questions, completing the attestation statement/question, and payment of the required $35 processing fee.
- You must also receive a rating of at least “Proficient” on all standards of your summative evaluation instrument in order for your license to be renewed for another five years.
- If you do not remember your password, DO NOT “register a new account”, but please try the following steps in the order listed below:
- Go to the NCDPI Online Licensure System website
- Click “Forgot User ID?”
- Check your personal email for your User ID
- Once you have your User ID, return to the NCDPI Online Licensure System and click “Forgot password”
- Check your personal email for your password
- Once you have entered your User ID and Password, you should then be prompted to change your password before logging in
- If you continue to have technical issues with logging in, please email educatoreffectiveness@dpi.nc.gov for assistance.
- Once you have completed your action steps, your licensure specialist will then be able to verify that your CEU renewal requirements have been met, and will submit a request to renew your license. Please note that you will be able to access your new digital license by using the NCDPI Online Licensure System once NCDPI has processed the renewal request.
