Our school district values partnerships with regionally accredited colleges and universities in the education and development of future educators and embraces the opportunity to host educational placements.

Please note that all individuals interacting with students or observing classrooms will need to become an approved UCPS volunteer before beginning at the assigned school. Learn more about becoming an approved UCPS volunteer or contact James Kennedy at 704-296-5833.

Clinical Students

Upon completion of the volunteer background check, clinical students may reach out directly to schools to schedule observations.

Student Teachers 

• Student Teacher Orientation: you must attend an orientation session to begin the process. These sessions are only for student teachers who have a confirmed placement in Union County Public Schools and will be scheduled through Human Resources.
• Student teachers are not cleared to begin until they have received confirmation from Human Resources.

School Counseling Interns
